The hardware lines we work with
Commercial hardware is a small world of standard preps and standard finishes. If it is in your building already, we can usually match it.
There is no single best brand, and anyone who tells you otherwise is selling something. What matters far more is matching what a building already has, so that finishes stay consistent, cylinders stay on one keyway, and a technician six years from now can get a replacement part without redoing the whole opening.
These are the lines we install and service most often.
ANSI/BHMA grades, briefly
Commercial hardware is graded by ANSI/BHMA. Grade 1 is the heavy duty commercial standard, Grade 2 is light commercial, and Grade 3 is residential.
A Grade 3 lever on a busy public entrance is a false economy measured in months, not years. Where a door sees real traffic we specify Grade 1 and say why. Where it does not, we will tell you that too rather than upselling the whole schedule.
Matching what is already there
Finish codes, backsets, door preps, and function codes all have to line up for a replacement to drop in without modifying the door.
Send a photo of the existing lever and any label on the edge of the door and we can usually identify what is there.
